Tokyo Day 1

Today we began our trip to Tokyo!! We left the house at 9:30am after 3 hours of the little girls begging to leave!! Our plane left at 12:00 and we had a smooth flight. We had a HUGE surprise planned for the girls……. Mimi was meeting us in Tokyo!!! They had no idea and we’d tried SO hard to keep it a secret from them for the last few months. My biggest fear was being able to find her at the airport, but it turned out that her plane was 10 minutes late, making her only about 5 minutes ahead of us. We got to the immigration line and I had already spotted her. Kelsey said “Mom, that lady looks like Mimi!!” I said “Yes, she kind of does…. “ in hopes of putting her off until we could actually get to Mimi and hug her, but Kelsey figured it out pretty quickly and started crying. They were all SOOOO surprised and excited! This is Mimi’s first trip out of the country, so that makes it even more exciting!!

We came out right in the front of the place where we needed to buy our bus tickets and the bus left 10 minutes later! We couldn’t have asked for things to go more smoothly!! We are staying for 4 nights at the New Sanno hotel which is a military hotel in Tokyo. It is very nice and inexpensive compared to other places around. We got settled in and then ate at the Japanese restaurant in the hotel. It was a little pricy, but so good!! After that, we checked out the pool – Adysen and Allie couldn’t wait to get in! Mimi had a hard time staying awake at the pool as she’d been awake for a very long time at that point. We all had a good nights sleep and look forward to our adventures tomorrow!!
