Happy Thanksgiving!!

Well, we had a Thanksgiving unlike any other. First, I will say that it is VERY hard being away from our family this time of year!!! Holidays are just not the same. We decided since our Thanksgiving was going to be different anyway, we'd make it completely diffferent! We did NO cooking.... instead we spent 2 nights at a hotel/resort called the Pacific Island Club and it was SO much fun! We ate lunch on the way there at a Chinese Resturaunt - we have never used chopsticks for Thanksgiving lunch before, but the food was really good! We did have some traditional food for dinner at the hotel buffet. There was a great breakfast buffet the next morning and also an amazing dinner show that we enjoyed on Friday night. We had some shushi and other traditional Japanese food before we left on Saturday. Here are some pictures of the fun.

Meet the newest addition to our family....

Here's Andie!!! And these pictures show the reasons why we got her!

As most of you know, Allie was very much affected by the fact that we had to leave our last dog, Eli in the states. She really just has a heart for animals and has tried EVERY angle to get us to get a pet once she realized that other people around had them. It didn't take her long to figure out our "people don't have pets in Guam" story wasn't exactly true!! :)

Jason had taken the girls to the shelter yesterday to volunteer as they often do and he came telling me about these puppies. Since I was already considering this, I went with him to see them and of course ended up bringing one home!! We chose her because we think she will stay small. The lady at the shelter said that her mom was about 20 lbs and was some sort of Dauchshound mix. She definitely has some weenie dog in her, which isn't really my favorite, but we loved Eli so much who was weenie-ish too and we really needed a dog that we knew would stay small. We think she may have some Chiwawa or however you spell that in her too - her face looks kind of like it.

She is SUCH a sweet dog so far! We went and bought the "stuff" for her today and I introduced her to her crate and she crawled in and fell right asleep! As we will have to take her on a really LONG plane ride in 2 years when we move, it is critical that she likes her crate, so I am happy that she seems to enjoy it. She had her "surgery" today and is tired, but is doing great.

I SO wish we would have had a video camera when we brought her into the house. Allie was the first one to see her and she screamed with joy for a solid minute!!! It was really cute! Kelsey would have preferred a cat, but Andie has definitely stolen all our hearts!
