Boat Trip

This weekend, we went on a dive/snorkel boat trip sponsored by the church on base that we have been going to. We had a great time! About 1/2 the people were divers and 1/2 did not dive. The boat drove to a site where there was a shipwreck and the divers went down while the rest of us jumped off the boat and snorkeled or just had fun swimming. We were close to a beautiful reef where the snorkeling was great. Then, we got back on, had a snack and a devotional, then went to another good dive site. It REALLY motivated Jason and Kelsey and I to want to get our divers certifications!! Snorkeling is fun, but this is just such a great place to learn to dive! It's expensive, but not as expensive as most places from what we hear. As soon as we recover from our moving expenses, this will be on our list of things to do!! We'll also have to get an underwater camera so we can post pictures from our dives!!

Geraldine,
I always worry about posting too many pictures, but I guess it's not too many for you! :-) Did you guys dive when you were here?

I don't dive...or even snorkel much. (grew up in West TX...no water!) DH got dive certified when we were there in '82-'84. My 2 youngest were certified in 2000 at 14 and 16. They are all fish in the water. The dive instructor told me they were fearless. The approaching gar did not bother them.

After you are certified, save your money for a trip to Palau or Yap. I hear they are just great. I have a friend here who will arrive on Guam next year...Navy submariner family.

And there is NO such thing as too many photos! One pic is worth a thousand words!!

Have you found Anderson's gift shop??

Good one Papa! :)

No, I haven't been to the gift shop yet, but have heard it is great - I don't have much shopping time as I am working full time, but do hope to check it out soon!!

We definitely want to go to Palau and have recently heard about Yap - so many things to do and places we we want to go! :)
